Nottingham Forest’s players have returned to Wilford Lane to begin pre-season training.
The Garibaldi shared footage of Ola Aina, Ryan Yates, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and others returning to work earlier this week, with the latter having a new blonde wig.
Nottingham Forest has shared additional photographs of their team at Wilford Lane, including a noteworthy feature in a photo of Murillo.
What Nottingham Forest shared about Murillo
The Reds uploaded a photo of the Brazilian on the training pitches at Wilford Lane earlier on Thursday, with new signing Carlos Miguel in the background.
However, more observant Nottingham Forest fans will have noticed something else.
Murillo, who Miguel claims spoke highly of Nottingham Forest when he considered leaving Corinthians this summer, can be seen wearing a No. 5 on his new training jacket, just above the adidas badge.
That, of course, differs from the No.40 worn by the center defense last season, thus he appears to have taken Orel Mangala’s No.5 shirt.
The Belgium international only recently left to join Lyon on a permanent basis, and Nottingham Forest received a total of £31 million from the French club.
Murillo was definitely eager to get his hands on the No. 5 shirt, which he had never worn before in his career.
Murillo’s impressive debut season at Nottingham Forest earned him Player of the Season, leading to speculation of a potential move away from the City Ground this summer.
Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are also reportedly interested in signing the 22-year-old.
Murillo’s choice of a new shirt number, on the other hand, may indicate that he intends to stay in Nottingham; otherwise, he would not have been concerned with his shirt number.
Hopefully, that is the case, and the Nottingham Forest fan favourite will continue to shine in red.
