Flamengo striker Pedro has already experienced his fair share of ups and downs in his career, and the last few days have brought it all together in a depressing manner.
The 27-year-old Brazilian was one of the strikers Nottingham Forest targeted late in the summer season, but the deal fell through. The Premier League club’s offer fell short of Flamengo’s expectations.
Pedro has now received bad news, as well as an update that rules out Nottingham Forest’s comeback in January.
According to Globo, Pedro injured his left anterior cruciate ligament during Brazil’s training session in Curitiba yesterday. Following this, numerous Brazilian players expressed their support for the Selecao striker on social media.
The injury is a significant blow for Pedro, who has 30 goals in all competitions for Flamengo in 2024 and has become a highly consistent goalscorer for them in recent years after a disappointing spell at Fiorentina.
This is the player’s second ACL injury, and it occurred at a time when he could have established himself as a regular in the Brazil national team.
Such turns of events in football are terrible.
