Liverpool make an official offer to recruit 23-year-old South American midfielder

Liverpool are apparently looking to recruit Porto midfielder Alan Varela.

According to Mundo Boca Radio writer Luis Fregossi, Liverpool has made an official bid to sign Porto’s 23-year-old defensive midfielder, and the Argentine international is set to join the club before the transfer season shuts.

Liverpool has been working on the transfer for a while, with their first inquiry coming in April. Varela is highly regarded throughout Europe and may be a valuable addition to Liverpool’s squad.

It’s no surprise that they’re aiming to sign a top defensive midfielder this summer. They deployed Alexis Mac Allister as an anchor last season, but the Argentine international is better suited to the role of an advanced center midfielder.

The Reds have yet to find a competent replacement for Fabinho, and Varela would be a good long-term investment. Although Liverpool recruited Wataru Endo from Stuttgart last season, and the Japanese international performed admirably, they need to invest in a player of greater quality if they want to challenge for big championships.

    Alan Varela may revolutionize Liverpool.

Varela has demonstrated his ability in Portuguese football, and he possesses the physical and technical attributes to excel in the Premier League as well. He possesses all of the tools necessary to develop into a top-tier player and has the potential to change Liverpool’s midfield situation.

He will help to defend Liverpool’s defensive unit while also allowing the creative players more freedom.

The prospect to join a big club like Liverpool will also be appealing to the South American midfielder, who will want to get started in the Premier League right away. It remains to be seen if Liverpool can complete the transfer before the market closes later today.

Liverpool will be looking to challenge for big prizes this season, and they must address the vulnerabilities in their team before the transfer window closes.
