Nottingham Forest has already seen Feyenoord reject their initial proposal of €25 million for Santiago Giménez.
On Wednesday, Voetbal International reported that the Reds made an upgraded offer of €30 million. Nuno Espírito Santo’s team is aware that Feyenoord wants more for the striker.
Later that day, journalist Martijn Krabbendam suggested that the 23-year-old could be tempted to join Nottingham Forest.
A new report from Voetbal International gives the latest on the Premier League club’s efforts to sign the player.
According to reports, the Eredivisie side did not respond to Nottingham Forest’s most recent offer of €26 million plus €4 million in bonuses since it did not fulfill their requirements. The English club is aware of this, as well as the knowledge that their Dutch counterpart is seeking a club record amount to facilitate his sale.
Feyenoord has ended negotiations with Nuno Espírito Santo for Giménez. The title of VI states that Feyenoord has ‘cancelled deal’ with Nottingham Forest.
Despite prior reports stating that the Mexico international was interested in joining Nottingham Forest, VI says he was immediately opposed to the proposal.
