Nottingham Forest are seeking to bolster their team before the summer transfer window closes in about two weeks.
The Reds need to address a few vacancies before the market closes, and Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo would like to add a few players.
On Saturday, there were no fresh additions to the starting eleven, and the manager will be hoping that changes before the window closes.
Things are starting to heat up, and speculation is rampant, with Forest linked with a lot of players at the moment.
Another winger, a striker, a full-back, and a goalkeeper are on the shortlist, and it will be interesting to see what Forest can sign before the transfer window closes.
Nottingham Forest asked queries about Jordan Ayew.
According to TalkSPORT’s Geoff Peters, the Reds inquired about Ayew this summer.
Leicester City, along with Steve Cooper, are also interested in signing the player, and they now hold the most interest.
Ayew, maybe unexpectedly, has received interest from Saudi Arabia as he seeks to leave Crystal Palace.
The dynamic forward has been at Selhurst Park since 2019, joining from Swansea City.
He played 20 minutes in yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Brentford and has 212 appearances for the club.
Ayew has 23 goals and 22 assists in five seasons with the Eagles, but they plan to cash in on him this summer.
During his time at Palace, the player pleased Oliver Glasner, who described him as ‘outstanding’ last season.
Experienced Ayew is not what Forest needs.
At 32, this would be a detrimental shift in transfer strategy ahead of the window slamming shit.
Ayew knows the Premier League and is still a capable performer, but it’s safe to say he doesn’t improve the starting lineup.
The player usually plays in the middle, although at Palace, he’s frequently deployed out wide.
It’s difficult to picture many fans preferring Ayew above Callum Hudson-Odoi or Anthony Elanga, but he may be a good backup.
Cooper and Leicester appear to be the frontrunners in this contest, while Forest’s interest appears to be speculative.
Hopefully, players will join the club this summer, but it’s hoped that the ambition extends beyond a low-cost deal for Ayew.
