Nottingham Forest are looking for new players, although some of the club’s finest players are undoubtedly interested.
The Reds have signed six players this summer, with Ramon Sosa poised to be the seventh in the coming days.
Forest face Bournemouth in the City Ground curtain-raiser on Saturday, and Nuno Espirito Santo is preparing for the game.
There is still some talk about some of his players, and the window slamming shut can’t come soon enough in that regard.
Nuno Espirito Santo takes tough attitude against Morgan Gibbs-White.
It’s hardly surprising that Gibbs-White has been connected with a number of clubs, including Newcastle and Aston Villa, given his role in the Forest attack.
Now, Espirito Santo has provided an update on the Forest number 10, and he is adamant on selling Gibbs-White this summer.
In his news conference on YouTube, he stated: “Look, what I’m aware of is what happens on the training ground on a regular basis, and everyone is there.
“I hope everyone comes tomorrow till the last day of the market; that is our priority.
“I realise that there is interest from other clubs, but from Forest’s concern we want to keep them all because they are good players.”
Forest needs to keep Gibbs-White.
The Reds signed Gibbs-White in the summer of 2022 for an initial transfer price of £25 million, which may climb to £40 million.
He has often bamboozled the opposition since his arrival, and the City Ground crowd adore him.
Forest will eventually have to declare defeat and accept that Gibbs-White will sign with a much larger team.
However, there is now no compulsion to sell, and it appears that the 24-year-old is content to stay on Trentside.
It’s encouraging to hear Espirito Santo say he wants to keep the player at the football club beyond this summer.
Forest will very certainly only contemplate a trade if it is extremely lucrative, and hopefully the number 10 remains in place beyond the end of the transfer window.
