The latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours, as the Reds have reportedly negotiated a fee ahead of completing their next significant move in the market this summer window.
Pep Ljinders and Vitor Matos look to have struck gold again, as Liverpool reportedly accepted Red Bull Salzburg’s latest bid for Bobby Clark. After rejecting bids of £6 million and £8 million, the Reds appear to have had their £10 million asking price met by the Austrian club.
The apparent breakthrough in negotiations came only days after the teenager posted a black-and-white photo on social media of himself during a Liverpool warm-up, looking down. Clark followed up with a more optimistic post on Tuesday night, less than 24 hours before the news emerged. It featured a highlight clip of him playing for the club’s youth, as well as the statement “Missing it,” which was punctuated with an hourglass emoji.
The Times was the first to publish the pact, with the Reds also set to get 17.5% of any future profit Salzburg makes from cashing in on Clark. They also stated that two undisclosed Premier League clubs were interested in the adolescent.
According to Chronicle Live, Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is a fan of the player that the club sold for £1.5 million three years ago. Several Championship clubs appeared to be interested in taking Clark on loan, and he was reportedly offered a new contract.
Teun Koopmeiners is another midfielder who will most likely be transferred this summer. The Netherlands international was coached by Arne Slot at Utrecht, and just as practically every ex-Ajax player Erik ten Hag has worked with has gone on to play for Manchester United, the incoming Reds manager is expected to want his compatriot at Anfield.
Koopmeiners is doing his part by missing their most recent pre-season friendly against St. Pauli after skipping training. The midfielder also did not play in the UEFA Super Cup, which the Europa League champions lost 2-0 to Real Madrid. However, Ederson, whom Liverpool is also rumored to be interested in, played the entire 90 minutes in Warsaw, Poland.
