Kevin Nolan outlines his ambitions for Nottingham Forest this season and makes a surprise announcement

It’s that time of year when commentators begin to make Premier League predictions, and Kevin Nolan has provided his assessment on Nottingham Forest.

The Reds enter their third season in the Premier League with the added hope that things will begin to settle down a little.

Forest have just avoided relegation in their previous two Premier League seasons, so some stability would be appreciated.

The Reds are off to a relatively good start in the Premier League, facing Bournemouth, Southampton, and Wolves.

Nolan is set to undertake some punditry work this season after departing West Ham with David Moyes at the end of last season.

However, it appears that he is still living in Nottingham, as his kid is presently playing for one of the City Ground’s academy teams.

He has revealed what he intends to do at Forest this season as another Premier League campaign approaches.

Kevin Nolan explains his ambitions for Nottingham Forest this season.

It is quite surprising that Nolan’s kid is currently playing for Forest, albeit it is unclear what age group he is in.

This summer, Forest also signed Tim Cahill’s son, Shea, who will join the under-18 squad for the 2024/25 season.

Nolan has made his decision on Forest, and he believes it will be a close race at the bottom again this season.

He said on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, “I mean, living in Nottingham, I hope not (relegation), you know my boy is there and everything else, but I just feel that the five clubs above the relegation zone last year might all chop and change again. I hope they do not go down.

“I do think the three that came up will struggle but I think it could chop and change a lot.”

Nuno Espirito Santo faces pressure for a successful Forest start.

Forest must get out to a strong start in the 2024/25 season, and the Reds have long overdue it.

Since their return to the top-flight in 2022, Forest has struggled to accumulate points on the board.

Last season, the team won two of their first four matches before experiencing a minor setback that resulted in Steve Cooper’s dismissal.

Forest have now had a full pre-season campaign with a head coach who has been able to communicate his ideas, and most importantly, all of last season’s best players are still with the club.

Forest can therefore really kick on this season, and ideally Nolan gets his wish and the team does not end up in a relegation struggle.
