In their fourth league match of the year, Hull City visits Leeds United, and it appears that they will be led by one of Daniel Farke’s targets.
Following their failure to place in the top six, the Tigers have undergone a summer of drastic changes, and it appears that they will have a busy few weeks in the market leading up to their trip to Elland Road.
Important players like Jaden Philogene and Jacob Greaves have left City, and loanees including Liam Delap, Tyler Morton, Anass Zaroury, and Fabio Carvalho have also left.
One piece of business they have finished is the arrival of Cody Drameh on a free transfer after being released by Leeds, but the starting lineup that Tim Walter, the new manager, selects against the Whites later this month will be very different from the one that Liam Rosenior had in April.
They do, however, seem to be beginning to make some headway in terms of incomings, beating Leeds to one of their goals in the process.
Hull City is almost done acquiring Leeds’ top target, Liam Millar.
Both teams are actively searching for wide players to bolster their lineups; Leeds’ need has increased when Crysencio Summerville left.
To replace Summerville’s production, Leeds will need a true top-tier acquisition, and Jonathan Rowe of Norwich City appears to be the main choice.
For a few weeks now, Daniel Farke and the Leeds recruitment team have been getting ready for this possibility. Liam Millar was one player that was mentioned earlier in the summer.
Leeds actually saw Millar play for Canada at the Copa America after he made an impression when on loan at Preston North End. However, Matthew Scianitti reports that Leeds’ dreams of signing Millar have now been dashed.
According to Scianitti, Millar will have a physical with Hull City following an agreement with FC Basel for a sum estimated to be around £3 million.
All traces of a potential move to Leeds are gone as Millar is about to sign a three-year contract in East Yorkshire with the possibility of another.
Jonathan Rowe is the most recent addition to Leeds Millar’s roster.
A number of wingers have been connected to a transfer to Elland Road, but it’s certain that Rowe is what they want.
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi of Crystal Palace was also being pursued by Leeds, although he will be spending the season on loan at Sheffield United.
Nothing much has happened with Rowe since Monday in terms of the newest. Nevertheless, journalist Connor Southwell of Pink Un has hinted that there might be action before Saturday.
Leeds made an early bid of about £7 million, but Norwich is unlikely to discuss a sale until that amount reaches £15 million.
