Wolves will not compete with Leeds United in their pursuit of Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe, according to Alex Crook.
According to a talkSPORT journalist via X on 5 August, it will take a “very decent” bid from Elland Road to persuade the Canaries to part with the 21-year-old, who they are “keen” to keep.
However, their desire is “real” as they seek to respond to Crysencio Summerville’s exit to West Ham over the weekend.
On August 5, John Percy of The Telegraph stated that early talks between the clubs had already taken place, with an initial bid of £7 million on the table, despite a value gap for the attacker.
Daniel Farke wants to raid his former club for a Leeds United signing.
The Whites have received a sizable transfer fee this summer after losing star players Summerville and Archie Gray.
Another crucial player, Glen Kamara, and a number of periphery players have also left, while the Red Bull sponsorship has brought in significant money.
Farke apparently believes he needs three acquisitions from this moment forward to re-enter the promotion race [The Athletic, 5 August], including a wide man, a midfielder, and a full-back.
Even with the financial challenges he faced this summer, he should have enough money to fill those three slots with high-quality players.
Rowe scored 12 goals in his first season as a first-team regular at Carrow Road last year, so there is likely room for him to grow even more.
However, with his contract in its final year and a club option to extend it by one year [Football Insider, 5 August], the Whites may be wary of being forced to pay too much, especially after seeing Summerville leave for significantly less [Florian Plettenberg, 3 August] than the reported £40 million asking price [talkSPORT, 30 July].
