The saga surrounding Ramon Sosa and Nottingham Forest shows no signs of ending soon, as a new update has emerged.

It was reported late last week that Forest were close to reaching an agreement with Talleres to sign the 24-year-old winger.

However, his team has shifted the goalposts somewhat and is now asking for about £18 million plus a slew of add-ons for his signing.

Forest has identified Sosa as a target who can supplement Nuno Espirito Santo’s diverse roster.

The player has yet to play in Europe, but it is believed that the Paraguay international wants to join Forest this summer.

Over the weekend it emerged that a Brazilian club had also had a bid accepted and it is more enticing to Talleres than the one Forest have put on the table.

Now it’s been revealed that Sosa had a disagreement with President Andres Fassi and was ordered to leave the training facility.

The winger intended to join Forest, but the transfer is now on hold since the club has yet to submit an acceptable offer.

Sosa had a successful campaign in 2023/24, scoring seven goals and six assists.

His move is still up in the air, and it appears that his relationships with Talleres are deteriorating by the day.

Forest must either pay up or on to the next target.

Forest’s season is now just over three weeks away, and Espirito Santo will be hoping to have his squad ready for the first game.

Sosa is a guy that Forest has definitely scouted and believes can do a job, but the club must now put up the money or move on.

Forest do not have time to wait for internal politics with Sosa, and it is apparent that his current club will not compromise on their valuation.

Sosa normally plays on the left, which makes his arrival very appealing to the football club.

However, this is not the first time Forest has been disappointed with a target, nor will it be the last.

This deal may no longer be possible, forcing Forest to move on to the next player on their list of summer targets.
