Nottingham Forest’s ‘target’ writes mysterious statement amid major trade update

Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as the Reds pursue winger additions for manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Ramon Sosa has shared a mysterious social media post amid claims that Nottingham Forest have been rebuffed in their attempts to sign the winger.

The Paraguay international has been the subject of much conjecture in recent weeks, with the Reds rumored to be among the clubs interested in his reputed $20 million (£15.5 million) release clause. Strengthening out wide is a goal for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo, and Forest were said to have spoken with Argentine club Talleres about acquiring Sosa.

However, Paraguayan website Versus has recently stated that “everything indicates” Talleres is not “entirely convinced” by what Forest has proposed. They hint that the 24-year-old’s move to Europe has fallen through.

They also take note of Sosa’s social media post and suggest that it “could be related” to the current state of affairs regarding his future. On Saturday, the athlete posted an Instagram story with an emoji of a downcast face against a simple background.

Versus claims the Reds offered Sosa a fixed fee of 12.3 million euros (£10.4 million). The plan would also contain 2.3 million euros (£1.9 million) in add-ons for meeting specified objectives.

According to Argentine media site Via Pais, MLS side LA Galaxy could re-enter the fight for the winger. They apparently had a $15 million (£11.6 million) offer turned down earlier this year.

According to reports, the expense of Sosa’s release clause discouraged Argentine teams Boca Juniors and River Plate from pursuing the midfielder despite having him on their radar. Everton and Newcastle United are thought to have scouted him, while Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Leicester City have previously expressed interest.

Talleres president Andres Fassi stated in May that Sosa would most likely leave this summer. He stated, “Ramon will undoubtedly be released in this market; he has our commitment to leave.”
