Nottingham Forest’s great start to the summer could continue as Evangelos Marinakis seeks to add another player to his roster.
Nuno Espirito Santo has received plenty of support in the transfer market, with five new players joining the City Ground.
Forest’s pre-season preparations have now culminated in the completion of their pre-season tour to Spain, where they won one, drew one, and lost one during a positive week in the sun in terms of fitness.
The Reds will now return to action at home next week against Villarreal, and Marinakis may well have another new signing on board by then.
Nottingham Forest are looking to sign an in-demand center-back.
So far this summer, Forest has strengthened their backline with the spectacular addition of Nikola Milenkovic.
The Serbian has already been integrated into Nuno’s squad on the pre-season trip to Spain, although there have been several departures from the City Ground.
Moussa Niakhate left last month, and Forest needed players off the books to balance their spreadsheets against PSR.
Despite having signed a big-name defender in Milenkovic, it appears the Reds are still hoping to acquire another centre-back in the coming weeks.
According to Il Resto del Carlino, Forest are still interested in Toulouse center-back Logan Costa.
However, they are not the only team interested in the Cape Verde international, with the news from Italy coming with Bologna’s interest.
The article also mentions Fulham, where the 23-year-old is obviously making an impression in the Premier League.
Who is Logan Costa?
Costa is presently playing football in Ligue 1 with Toulouse, where he won the French Cup in 2022/23.
Despite being only 23, Costa has established himself as a reliable member of the Toulouse squad, appearing in 57 games across all competitions.
31 of those came in Ligue 1 last season, when he also scored and assisted for Toulouse.
It was originally reported this year that Costa’s prospective sale may result in a transfer record for Toulouse.
