Nottingham Forest’s pre-season tour in Spain is coming to an end, with the game on Friday night marking the end of their stay in the sun.
So far, Forest has won one and drew one of their two Championship games.
Nuno Espirito Santo must be delighted with what he has seen from the Reds this summer, both on and off the field.
The Portuguese manager has Evangelos Marinakis’ backing in the market, and five players have already been signed.
Forest are unbeaten on the pitch, having defeated Chesterfield in a friendly before to their journey to Spain.
And it appears like Nuno’s efforts on the training pitch are beginning to bear fruit as the Reds prepare for friendly games.
Forest have been in Spain for almost a week, with their first friendly against Sunderland.
Here is what Anthony Elanga had to say about pre-season training.
Forest won over Millwall on Tuesday, but Elliot Anderson left the game with an injury.
Forest will play their final game on Friday night against Elche from La Liga 2.
However, the journey to Spain has proven to be profitable, with Anthony Elanga providing information on what has been done to prepare the Reds for the upcoming season.
Speaking to Sky Sports from Spain, the Swedish international revealed how hard Nuno had worked the team in the 40-degree heat.
“We’ve been doing double sessions in this heat as well – I find it really good to be able to train in this heat,” Elanga told me.
“Because when you return to England, it will not be as hot.” It’s difficult, but it’ll be worth it in the end.
“Being in an area like this draws us closer together. We’re able to bond more, which I believe will help us on the pitch.”
Anthony Elanga is ready to continue repaying Forest’s confidence.
Elanga has already played a whole season at the City Ground after moving from Manchester United last summer.
The 22-year-old scored five goals and assisted nine times in the Premier League for Forest.
As a result, clubs such as Newcastle United have expressed a strong interest in signing Elanga this summer.
However, the winger has made no hint that he sees his future elsewhere, stating that he is eager to return to Forest this season.
“This is the decision I wanted deep down [to join Forest] because I felt I needed to take that challenge and play more regularly,” according to him.
“I’m just grateful Forest were able to give me the opportunity and hopefully I was able to repay them last season and I want to be able to repay them this season.”
