Talks are underway: Nottingham Forest make move to sign “gifted” new £15 million+ attacker over Wolves

As they attempt to avoid relegation in the coming season, Nottingham Forest have reportedly begun talks with a sixth summer signing for Nuno Espirito Santo.

    Nottingham Forest Transfer News

Forest have signed Elliot Anderson, Marko Stamenic, Carlos Miguel, Eric da Silva Moreira, and, most recently, Nikola Milenkovic as they prepare for Espirito Santo’s first full season in charge. The experienced defender replaces Moussa Niakhate, who left the Midlands for Lyon to assist Forest comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

With just over a month until the transfer window closes, Forest are apparently looking for more fresh faces to round off a fantastic summer. Recent reports have also linked the Midlands club with free agent and former Real Madrid star James Rodriguez, whose agent has supposedly offered the player to numerous Premier League clubs.

However, Forest appears to be looking elsewhere in South America for their sixth signing of the summer. According to Cesar Luis Merlo of Sport Witness, Nottingham Forest have begun talks to recruit Ramon Sosa in a move worth an estimated $20 million (£15.5 million) in the coming month. This comes after Wolverhampton Wanderers expressed interest in the CA Talleres left-winger in a Midlands competition for his services.

Forest have not been reluctant to splurge the cash in the current transfer window, but it remains to be seen whether they will match Talleres’ £15.5 million asking price for the 24-year-old. Following a successful season in the Copa de la Liga, Sosa might make his biggest career move yet by joining City over Gary O’Neil’s Wolves.

“Gifted” Sosa can provide backup to Hudson-Odoi.

Although Sosa’s lack of European football experience means he’s unlikely to break into Espirito Santo’s starting lineup, he might at least provide protection for Calum Hudson-Odoi, whose injury history explains why.

At 24 years old, the Paraguay winger could be approaching his peak years as a winger, making now the optimum time to make a move. Forest, described as “gifted” by South American football analyst Nathan Joyes, might add important depth to its squad by signing Sosa.

Coming off a seven-goal, six-assist season, which was followed by an excellent Copa America tournament, Sosa might still make headlines if he joins the Premier League this summer. If Joyes’ appreciation provides any indication, Talleres’ £15 million+ price tag is understandable.
