Tottenham’s 27-year-old UCL winner is “an object of desire” as the club seeks to address a problem position

Tottenham Hotspur are trying to strengthen their defense and have identified Andreas Christensen as a possible target.

According to Fichajes, the 27-year-old Barcelona defender is ‘an object of desire’ for the North London club, who will face competition from Manchester United.

Christensen has established himself as a prominent first-team player for Barcelona, and he was instrumental in the club’s league title victory. There is little doubt that he could be a valuable acquisition for Tottenham as they attempt to address their defensive issues.

Tottenham’s defensive unit is lacking depth, and the club needs to add a couple of excellent center defenders.

Tottenham are poised to lose Eric Dier in the next months, leaving only Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero as excellent central defenders.

The 27-year-old Danish international has experience in the Premier League, having played for Chelsea. During his tenure in England, he helped the Blues win the UEFA Champions League.

If he returns to the Premier League with Tottenham, he may fit in quickly and make an immediate effect.

It will be intriguing to see whether Barcelona is willing to sanction his departure.

Tottenham should try to test the Spanish giants’ resolve with a substantial offer in the coming months, as they are in financial troubles. A January exit appears improbable, so Tottenham should look to make a move in the summer.
