Leeds United midfielder Joe Rothwell has been impressed by Harry Gray’s maturity as the 15-year-old participates in pre-season training with the first squad.
Leeds are currently in a strong position thanks to Daniel Farke’s preparation for the 24/25 season, as they attempt to achieve automatic promotion at the second time of asking.
A slew of young people, including 15-year-old Harry Gray, are vying for his attention in his tour group for Germany.
Joe Rothwell impressed by Harry Gray during Leeds’ pre-season
A trip to Harrogate Town on Friday saw Leeds add a handful of talented teenagers to the squad, with Harry Gray standing out the most.
Gray, the younger brother of the late Archie, hopes to follow in his sibling’s footsteps by making his competitive debut for the Whites soon.
He came off the bench for a brief cameo late on, and his involvement in the senior environment has impressed new signing Joe Rothwell, who said this to the YEP:
“It’s strange because at 29 years old, I’m definitely one of the elder lads. A huge cycle. When I was that age, I used to look up to individuals in their 30s and thought I had a long way to go.
“Now I’m gazing the other way, thinking I might not have too long to go. I’ve been particularly impressed with Harry’s performance; for such a young player, he appears to be very mature. A bright future for him.”
Harry Gray might be a rising star at Leeds.
It is impossible not to be enthusiastic about having such a possibility at the club, especially given his family name.
Farke’s responsibility, as well as the fans’, is to moderate expectations that he will be pushed through and forced into a scenario that will not favor him.
However, his inclusion in this group suggests that he will be promoted quickly in the next months and years.
