Nottingham Forest’s summer is underway, with their first pre-season friendly under their belt.
Nuno Espirito Santo is halfway into his pre-season schedule at the City Ground, with the first of the summer friendly completed.
Forest have already welcomed a number of new players in the transfer window, with a few making their debuts against Chesterfield over the weekend.
However, Forest is not done with potential incomings, as the Reds continue to seek for market chances.
Forest has been connected with one player since before the market started, but there is now serious interest from Serie A.
Nottingham Forest target is now attracting Serie A interest.
This summer, Forest has already added a new winger, midfielder, defender, and goalie.
The only important position that has not been strengthened is up front, with a new striker.
Chris Wood proved his worth at the weekend, scoring the opening goal against Chesterfield after an outstanding 2023/24 season.
However, now that Forest has entered the battle to sign Che Adams, there may be doubts about what Taiwo Awoniyi can bring to the table.
According to Calciomercato, Torino is now expressing serious interest in signing free agent Che Adams this summer.
Wolves are the other side, giving Forest stiff competition in the hunt to recruit the Scotland international.
Adams is now in Italy, but this is not related to a potential move to Turin; the striker is enjoying his summer break after the Euros.
However, further contacts are expected to occur between the two sides in the following days.
Is Che Adams good enough for the Premier League?
In 124 top-flight outings, the Scotsman has only scored 25 goals and assisted 13 times.
If Forest were to sign Adams this summer, he would face stiff competition from Wood for a spot in Nuno’s starting lineup.
Granted, he would be coming off a season in the Championship that saw him score 15 goals in the league alone.
However, history suggests that Adams will struggle to establish himself in the top division, which will be exacerbated if he comes off the bench for Wood.
Russell Martin, the 28-year-old’s previous boss, has recently spoken positively about him.
“They both got a goal and the way Che reacted to not playing was amazing – brilliant energy and so respectful,” Russell told reporters at Bein Sport.
“There was a lot of talk about him; we turned down a bid for him a few weeks ago, and nothing has transpired since.
