Nottingham Forest will be on the hunt for a handful of players before the Premier League season begins in August.
Nikola Milenkovic is scheduled to have a physical at Forest tomorrow and is expected to be the Reds’ next signing.
There will be many links to new players this summer, but Nuno Espirito Santo will most likely be thorough in his approach.
Forest will likely prioritize quality over number when it comes to player additions.
The Reds will probably miss out on a number of players, and there is currently intense interest in a player who Forest were linked with last month.
Everton make a bid for the player coveted by Nottingham Forest.
Wilfried Gnonto looks ready to quit Leeds United this summer after the club failed to return to the Premier League last season.
Archie Gray has already left the football club, and more high-profile departures appear to be on the cards.
Last month, it was reported that Forest loved the look of Gnonto, but Everton is now showing interest in the midfielder.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton has rekindled their interest in the player after missing out on him last summer.
Last season, Gnonto scored nine goals and assisted three times, but he couldn’t help Leeds beat Southampton in the Championship play-off final.
Michael Dawson is a great fan of the winger and described him as ‘unplayable’ while working on Sky Sports News last season.
Forest should move on from Gnonto
Leeds are asking for at least £25 million for the Italian player, which may not be a wise investment.
Forest do want a winger, as Espirito Santo stated after Saturday’s 3-0 victory against Chesterfield.
However, there is speculation that there are better players out there who will cost a fraction of what Leeds is asking for Gnonto.
Forest has done some savvy business in the market thus far, and there has been a big shift in strategy.
Gnonto is only 20 years old, but his great performances for Leeds have been inconsistent, and the Reds may be better off without him.
With Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga the only natural wingers on the team, a fresh player is required.
However, Gnonto does not appear to be the right fit for Forest, and it may be prudent for them to allow Everton a free shot at this one.
