Nottingham Forest have finally learned how much they will have to spend to recruit Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina.

The centre-back was linked with a transfer to the City Ground over the weekend as Forest ramped up their recruitment efforts.

Milenkovic represented Serbia in Euro 2024, playing all three of his country’s group games before being eliminated.

The Reds are looking for a new central defender after letting Moussa Niakhate join Lyon to help the team comply with PSR.

Milenkovic appears to be the guy tasked with joining Forest and improving a club that conceded a handful of goals from set pieces previous season.

Nottingham Forest has learned how much they will have to pay for Nikola Milenkovic.

The Reds appear to be getting closer to a deal for the Serbian international.

According to Napoli Magazine, Fiorentina want to recuperate £20 million for their top defense this summer.

In good news for Forest, it’s been reported that the club is eager to recoup costs and would like Milenkovic off the wage bill.

At 26 years old, the defender would be an ideal fit in the Forest dressing room, with the ability to star for the club for many years.

Forest are looking for a defensive partner for Murillo, and Milenkovic appears to be the type of player who may fit in immediately.

He has 264 appearances for Fiorentina and has helped the club reach two Conference League finals in a row.

In 2018, ESPN journalist Dejan Stankovic described Milenkovic as ‘fearless’ when discussing other Premier League clubs following him.

Milenkovic would make a statement signing for Forest.

Milenkovic believes he would be a valuable addition to Forest’s squad this summer, since quality over number is the priority.

Espirito Santo will seek to strengthen his backline, and he will look to add a centre-back with extensive experience to his squad.

Milenkovic is in his prime but has already played a lot of football, including 57 matches for Serbia.

In the larger scheme of things, £20 million doesn’t seem like much, and maybe Forest can still complete this acquisition.
