Morgan Gibbs-White now appears to be poised to stay at Nottingham Forest this season, providing a significant boost to Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.
On the current episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior journalist Pete O’Rourke stated that keeping the 24-year-old is “great news” for Forest given his importance to the team.
At the City Ground, there were suspicions that Gibbs-White might have to be sold in order for the team to meet profit and sustainability targets.
However, with the exits of Orel Mangala and Moussa Niakhate, their anxieties have been alleviated, and they are unwilling to let their star player leave.
Morgan Gibbs-White is poised to stay at Nottingham Forest
Gibbs-White joined Forest in 2022 for a sum of £42.5 million with add-ons, signing a five-year contract following their promotion to the Premier League.
Since then, he has appeared 80 times for the club, scoring 11 goals and assisting 18 times, and has established himself as one of the squad’s most significant players.
Last season, the aggressive midfielder scored six goals and provided 10 assists in 42 appearances, generating interest from some of the country’s top clubs.
Football Insider had reported that Tottenham were among the clubs interested in luring Gibbs-White away from the City Ground, with a £40 million deal on the table.
