Liverpool given the light for Kvicha Kvaratskhelia swoop following £110 million proposal and transfer hint

Kvicha Kvaratskhelia has been linked with a transfer away from Napoli this summer, with Liverpool tracking his talents ahead of a potential big-money deal.

Following Georgia’s elimination from Euro 2024, Liverpool target Kvicha Kvaratskhelia will decide his club future. They lost 4-1 to Spain in the Round of 16 on Sunday.

Napoli forward Kvaratskhelia said last week that he would decide on his future following the Euros in Germany. Georgia had just defeated Portugal 2-0 – a game in which he scored – and was into the knockout round of a major tournament for the first time in their history.

“I respect [new Napoli boss Antonio] Conte, he’s one of the best managers,” he stated last Wednesday. “I respect and adore Napoli. I will make a decision about my future after the Euros. Now I’m focusing on the game against Spain.”

With Georgia out, Kvaratskhelia is anticipated to decide whether to stay at Napoli or go, allowing Liverpool to make a move for the outstanding winger in the summer. Paris Saint-Germain was also interested in the 23-year-old, but their bid of £110 million was apparently unsuccessful. However, it was rumored that he preferred to try his luck in the Premier League rather than move to Parc des Princes.

Along with Liverpool, two other English clubs are also interested in signing Kvaratskhelia. The identities of those involved are unknown at the moment, but there is little question the Reds will have competition for the wideman, who has been a revelation since joining Napoli in July 2022.

He has scored 25 goals and 26 assists in 88 games for the Serie A club, which wants to extend his contract. Conte, meanwhile, was sure that Kvaratskhelia would remain with Napoli. Last Monday, the Italian stated in a press conference: “There are no uncertainties. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia remains here and will play for Napoli. There are no doubts; everything is apparent. “Kvara will stay with us.”

A club statement was also released, with Napoli issuing a warning to anyone interested in Kvaratskhelia this summer: “In reference to the statements of Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, and his father Badri, Calcio Napoli reiterates that the player has a contract with the club for another three years.”

Kvaratskhelia is not on the market,” Napoli stated. “The future of a player under contract with Napoli is decided by the Calcio Napoli club, not his agents or father!!! This is the end of the story.”
