Nottingham Forest are close to signing Newcastle United midfielder Elliot Anderson, with a £35 million deal nearing completion.

Forest moved quickly to recruit the Magpies talent, as teams scrambled to ensure they met PSR guidelines before tonight’s deadline.

Newcastle needed to generate almost £50 million, and selling Anderson to Forest is pure profit given that he came through the club’s system.

Forest has signed Eric da Silva Moreira so far this summer, and things appear to be picking up a little bit.

With the Reds close to acquiring Anderson, a newspaper has now made some assertions about the cash required for the midfielder.

How much will Nottingham Forest pay Elliot Anderson in wages?

The Reds are close to finalising this transaction, and while £35 million sounds like a lot, it might be arranged.

Forest will most certainly pay a lump sum, with an additional £10 million in add-ons and restrictions.

Another appealing aspect of this arrangement for the Reds is that Anderson does not appear to be going to swindle the club on pay.

According to The Guardian, Anderson intended to stay in Newcastle but consented to leave after being promised a 50% income boost.

According to Capology, Anderson earns £30,000 per week at Newcastle, thus he will likely earn roughly £45,000 per week at Forest.

In the great scheme of things, that’s not a tremendous wage spend, and Anderson should prove to be good value for money.

Anderson ticks many boxes from the Forest standpoint.

This summer, it appears that Forest is attempting to be more attractive in the transfer market.

The priority looks to be bringing in more young players with the ability to progress throughout their time at Forest.

Anderson is only 21 years old, but he has 44 Premier League outings to his name, which bodes well.

The skilled player will join a solid group of midfielders at the City Ground.

Danilo, Ibrahim Sangare, Nicolas Dominguez, and Ryan Yates are already in place at the club, and Anderson should complement them well.

The young Newcastle academy product can play defensive midfield or farther forward, and there are many positive aspects to this transaction.
