Liverpool are interested in adding a player to Arne Slot’s squad this summer, but he has refused a move to Paris Saint-Germain because he wants to come to England.
Slot will have had more time to work with Liverpool’s new decision-makers, and he will have likely stated his preferred recruits for the new season.
Jurgen Klopp leaves Anfield with a tremendously well-rounded group, allowing Slot to focus on executing his tactical ideas.
However, the Dutchman will almost certainly request one or two recruits, given the pressure to succeed in his first season.
Having said that, Liverpool are allegedly looking to sign a new centre-back and wide-forward this summer.
Joel Matip has left, and the club needs a better contingency plan in case Virgil van Dijk leaves in a year.
Perhaps the arrival of a new winger will be more of a luxury signing, given that the team already has numerous good forwards.
It is possible that adding something would be beneficial.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a Liverpool target, wants to move to the Premier League.
Liverpool is reportedly interested in Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a 23-year-old who has performed admirably for Georgia at Euro 2024.
Following his great performances with Napoli, Kvaratskhelia has established a strong reputation around Europe, attracting interest from a number of premier clubs.
To that purpose, the Mirror (page 72, 30/06) has just reported that Kvaratskhelia wants to join the Premier League this summer.
According to Sunday’s magazine, Paris Saint-Germain recently failed with a deal of £110 million.
Napoli has stated unequivocally that Kvaratskhelia is not for sale; nonetheless, the report claims the Georgian was never interested in joining PSG in the first place.
And, as contract talks with Napoli continue, Kvaratskhelia is thought to prefer the opportunity to try his luck in the Premier League.
According to a source in the Mirror, Kvaratskhelia rejected down PSG in order to relocate to England.
And, while a move to Liverpool would be extremely expensive, the 23-year-old may be worth it, given the years ahead of him.
Slot relied on his wingers for creativity at Feyenoord, and his wide men frequently played pivotal roles.
And with Kvaratskhelia and Mohamed Salah on the wings, Slot’s Liverpool would be a terrifying prospect for opponents.
