Nottingham Forest’s summer transfer window is already well underway, and the Reds can begin spending money.
Forest have signed two players thus far.
Marko Stamenic and Eric da Silva Moreira have already signed contracts to play for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
The former has gone on loan to Evangelos Marinakis’ other club, Olympiacos, for the 2024/25 season.
However, after making two acquisitions this summer, it appears like the Reds are already looking for their next prospective signing.
Nottingham Forest eyeing exciting young prospect
Forest have made some excellent additions in recent seasons, with Callum Hudson-Odoi joining for just £5 million and impressing significantly.
Then there are players like Murillo and Morgan Gibbs-White, who may leave this summer after impressing despite the club’s Premier League woes.
The pair have both had significant valuations placed on their heads ahead of the summer, surpassing that of Brennan Johnson’s exit last year.
Nuno’s team appears to be aiming to go ahead of the race by signing an exciting young star.
According to Spanish publication Revelo, Forest are showing a strong interest in Real Betis’ Assane Diao.
The Spanish winger has already attracted Premier League attention, with Brentford making an offer of €25 million (£21 million) in January.
According to reports, both the player and his agents are now unconcerned about the potential of leaving this summer.
Forest, on the other hand, are eager to outbid Saudi Arabia for the 18-year-old, who has a relation to Al-Ittihad sporting director Ramon Planes.
Assane Diao is reported to have ‘enormous’ potential.
The 18-year-old prospect appeared 18 times for Real Betis in La Liga last season, with 13 of those appearances coming from the starting lineup.
Diao also played a significant role in the Spanish club’s European campaign, appearing in both the Europa League and the Europa Conference League.
With three years left on his contract, Betis remains in a comfortable position when it comes to a possible departure this summer.
But Forest are eager to sign the winger while he is still only 18 years old, with the source claiming he has ‘enormous’ potential for the future.
