Michael Olise has reportedly agreed to personal terms ahead of a summer transfer. Arsenal is interested in a winger previously linked with a move to Liverpool.
With Euro 2024 started, there is enough of action to whet the appetites of football fans worldwide. Liverpool fans will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on a few transfer options throughout the tournament.
The action began in Germany on Friday, with Andy Robertson having a difficult time as Scotland was beaten 5-1 by the hosts. Dominik Szoboszlai will be hoping for a stronger start in the competition when Hungary faces Switzerland.
Liverpool fans may be paying close attention to the other two games later, with Spain facing Croatia and Italy facing Albania. With the transfer market currently open, there is already a lot of conjecture about the Reds and their competitors.
Liverpool.com looks around the Premier League and across the globe to discover what’s going on with Liverpool’s competitors.
Chelsea ‘agrees terms’ with Michael Olise
TEAMtalk reports that Chelsea has accepted personal terms with Michael Olise ahead of a probable summer transfer. The Crystal Palace winger has also been connected with Liverpool in recent weeks, as the Reds are thought to be looking for a new winger.
Chelsea, however, may have beaten the Reds to the punch. Following suggestions that the Blues had made contact with Palace, it is now believed that the 22-year-old has verbally agreed to terms with the Stamford Bridge club.
According to Liverpool.com, all indications are that Chelsea will sign Olise this summer. That shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that the Blues wanted to get him last year but he signed a new contract with Palace.
It appears that he will be moving this time, and Liverpool may need to act soon if they are interested. It is speculated that Olise may have a clause that only Champions League clubs may trigger, which could benefit the Reds if they submit a late bid.
Arsenal ‘eager’ on Nico Williams
Arsenal is interested in signing Nico Williams, according to football.london. The 21-year-old has been linked with a transfer away from Athletic Bilbao this summer, and his contract reportedly has a $54 million (£42 million/€50 million) release clause.
Liverpool has previously been linked with Williams (Mirror), and Tottenham and Barcelona have both been mentioned as potential destinations. The forward will play for Spain against Croatia in Euro 2024.
Liverpool.com says: Williams is an enticing potential, and one that Liverpool should consider this summer, especially with Mohamed Salah entering his final year of contract. If the release clause is correct, it is probably worth considering.
