Work is now underway at the City Ground to provide Nottingham Forest with an increased capacity going into the new campaign.
A testing 2023/24 season for Forest can now firmly be put behind them as the summer transfer window has now officially opened.
There is a lot of work that can be done over the coming weeks as Forest aim to comply with the PSR rules which require players to be sold before 30 June.
But Evangelos Marinakis has some exciting plans to help develop the club having tasted European success last season with his other club, Olympiacos.
Of course, the four-point deduction did not help Forest’s cause, but with players like Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo there may be a feeling that this club could be capable of so much more.
Plans are now in place to upgrade the City Ground ahead of the new campaign and it seems work has now started on installing the improvements.
What is changing on the City Ground?
The Nottingham Forest owner is determined to see his team play in front of a crowd of more than 30,000 next season.
Small adjustments are being made to install additional seats, bringing the capacity to just over 30,000.
Those renovations include repositioning the large screen to accommodate more seating, with hundreds of additional seats expected to be added between the Trent End and the Brian Clough Stand.
Inspired by one of the stadiums used in the Qatar World Cup, work is now starting to provide Forest fans with more seating for the 2024/25 season.
An photograph has emerged on social media showing the work being done at the City Ground, where the large screen has been removed in preparation for its relocation.
Forest intends to employ shipping containers to create additional hospitality rooms, drawing influence from Stadium 974.
Work is certainly on at the stadium to continue the club’s development, but fans will also be looking for changes to the squad in the coming weeks.
Work to do all round at Nottingham Forest this summer
Whilst work is now underway at the City Ground and plans will be made to offload players in order to comply with PSR, Forest also need to bolster their squad.
It has to be remembered Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side only had their Premier League status confirmed on the final day of the campaign.
Although it may have been a turbulent season with the points deduction and VAR decisions going against them, but it is clear this is still a squad which needs adding to.
Players like Che Adams have already been linked with a potential free transfer to Forest this summer.
However, Forest are also being linked with £27m Maximilian Beier who could offer them with the quality needed to steer them clear of another relegation battle.
