Leeds United issued a severe pre-season warning for bending the rules at Harrogate Town

Leeds United will visit Harrogate Town in a pre-season friendly at Wetherby Road next month, and the hosts have reminded away fans that they are not allowed to join the home supporters.

Leeds United fans have been cautioned not to try to get into the home end during next month’s friendly with Harrogate Town. Wetherby Road has a capacity of 5,000, and with the Whites arriving on July 19, it is expected to be sold out.

Away tickets will be offered through United, with specifics to be released later, although Harrogate’s home tickets went on sale this afternoon. While there are limitations for legitimate home fans to obtain tickets, the Sulphurites are aware that if the away end sells out, Leeds fans will be eager to see their club.

Even though it is a pre-season friendly, Leeds will draw a larger crowd than normal on the road due to the League Two club’s closeness. Harrogate have announced that season ticket holders and supporters who have purchased using their ticketing system in the last two years will enjoy privileged access until June 20.

However, such buyers can obtain four tickets, potentially opening the door for United fans. According to a Harrogate statement, “Supporters should be aware that home tickets are for home supporters only, with away shirts not permitted.”

Leeds has only confirmed two friendlies to now, one of which is in North Yorkshire. Valencia will visit Elland Road on August 3, one week before the Championship season begins. Additional friendlies are expected to be announced in the near future, as well as a possible pre-season training camp for Daniel Farke’s team.
