An international team has revealed a new position for a Leeds United player.
Leeds United player Ethan Ampadu will play a new role in Wales’ international friendly against Slovakia on Sunday night.
Ampadu is one of three Whites players in the current Dragons roster for June’s two friendlies, although he was not named to the matchday squad for Thursday’s game against Gibraltar.
Fellow Whites player Dan James and youngster Charlie Crew were also called to the substitutes’ bench and came on in the second half of a goalless draw, with Crew earning his senior international debut.
Wales will play the second of their two June friendlies on Sunday evening in Slovakia, and the Dragons have announced that Ampadu will captain the team in the 7.45pm kickoff.
Ampadu, who is only 23, has already earned 51 caps for the Dragons.
