Latest Nottingham Forest news as the Reds’ summer transfer window activity begins ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
Nottingham Forest has announced their retained list following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
The Reds had already confirmed that Wayne Hennessey, Felipe, and Cheikhou Kouyate, as well as loanees Gonzalo Montiel, Divock Origi, Gio Reyna, Rodrigo Ribeiro, and Nuno Tavares, would leave at the end of their contracts. And the club has now revealed that Harry Arter, Loic Mbe Soh, and Scott McKenna will leave as free agents.
Additionally, Forest has released seven academy players. Kevin Adueni, Tony Gbopo, Ethan Hull, Ateef Konate, Henry Lister, Elijah Morgan, and Theo Robinson will all depart this summer.
The Reds stated: “The club would like to thank each player for their contribution during their time on Trentside and wish them well for the future.”
Defenders Willy Boly and Ola Aina’s contracts were set to expire, but it was revealed last month that both would stay put. Boly signed a one-year contract with a second-year option, and Aina’s contract included a one-year extension option.
While few Forest fans will be saddened by Arter’s departure, considering that he had not been a member of the first-team for some time, McKenna’s departure signifies another of the promotion heroes leaving for pastures new. The Scot, who spent the second part of the season on loan at FC Copenhagen, joined the City Ground in 2020 and played 106 games in the Garibaldi.
