Wilfried Gnonto of Leeds United is garnering a lot of attention after his club failed to regain promotion to the Premier League, according to Football Insider.
The Whites are open to offers for players such as Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville, Pascal Struijk, Illan Meslier, Archie Gray, and Georginio Rutter before the transfer window reopens next month.
On May 26, Football Insider revealed that Leeds must recuperate an astronomical £150 million in player sales as a result of their promotion failure due to outstanding transfer payments.
According to sources, there has already been “big” interest from clubs wanting to tempt Gnonto away from Elland Road, despite the Italian’s contract expiring in 2027.
Football Insider reported last month that the West Yorkshire club is looking for between £20 million and £30 million to allow the 20-year-old winger leave this summer.
Wilfried Gnonto may leave Leeds United following promotion blow.
After struggling for minutes before the turn of the year, Gnonto scored eight goals in the second half of the season, assisting Leeds to the Championship play-off final.
But Southampton’s 1-0 victory at Wembley left the Italian powerless to spare his team’s feelings of heartbreak.
The winger is expected to attract bids from Premier League teams in the upcoming weeks, having repelled their attention in the summer.
This time, though, things might be different for Gnonto when it was reported by Football Insider earlier this month that Leeds might have to sell some of its best players because they owe the team £73.6 million in unpaid transfer fees, which must be settled by the end of June.
Daniel Farke is anticipated to stay in command at Elland Road after it was revealed by Football Insider on May 28 that the board led by the 49ers is entirely in favor of the German and wants him to guide the team to promotion once more the following season.
