Chris Hughton was fired by Nottingham Forest in 2021, and now he has persuaded a current star to play for Ghana.

Forest has a number of international players among its ranks, as evidenced by how many attended the African Cup of Nations in January.

Willy Boly, Ibrahim Sangare, and Serge Aurier represented the Ivory Coast as Forest players in the tournament.

Ola Aina was on the Nigerian squad, while Moussa Niakhate and Cheikhou Kouyate represented Senegal in the competition.

Another athlete is preparing to promise his future to play for the African continent Ghana, with talks underway with Hughton.

Chris Hughton persuaded Callum Hudson-Odoi to play for Ghana.

Hughton, like his tenure at Forest, has fallen out of favour with Ghana, and he was fired following a disappointing AFCON performance.

Hughton, on the other hand, persuaded Hudson-Odoi to transfer allegiances after just three appearances for England.

Hughton communicated with Hudson-Odoi’s parents before to the 2022 World Cup, according to Ghanaian newspaper My News.

At the time, he was the Black Stars’ technical director, and the conversations did not go well.

He wasn’t a member of the Chelsea team at the moment and wanted to get that sorted up first.

When could Hudson-Odoi make his Ghanaian debut?

According to the report, Hudson-Odoi will be brought into the squad for games against Mali and the Central African Republic.

The 23-year-old cost Forest just £3 million last summer and scored eight goals for the Reds during the season.

It’s unfortunate that Hudson-Odoi believes his chances of playing for England have faded.

The Forest star was one of the country’s finest young prospects when he first emerged, but a lot of players have since surpassed him in the England squad.

All of his outings for England were friendlies, and now he hopes to make an impact with Ghana.

Forest fans should not be concerned about the Africa Cup of Nations.

The next tournament is scheduled for the summer and will have no bearing on the upcoming Premier League season.
