Leeds make Daniel Farke’s sacking decision at Elland Road – report

According to Justin Allen, Daniel Farke will remain as Leeds United manager next season despite missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

On Tuesday (28 May), a Sun writer revealed via X that the German will be in charge at Elland Road next season and has the full support of the club’s owners.

Leeds are the first Championship team in history to fail to get promoted despite having 90 points, losing 1-0 to Southampton in the play-off final.

“I understand Daniel Farke will remain as Leeds manager next season and has the club owners’ full support,” wrote Allen.

Daniel Farke will remain as Leeds United manager.

Not only does Farke have full support at Elland Road, but the bulk of the fanbase believes in his ideas and ideologies, despite the club’s failure to regain Premier League promotion.

Farke has extensive experience in the second division of English football, having led Norwich City to the Premier League on two occasions and will likely do it again for the Whites.

It is not every season that a three-way competition at the top of the Championship table emerges, as it did this year between Leeds, Ipswich Town, and Leicester City. All three made mistakes, but Leeds’ was the most serious.

While some may be disappointed with the news, it would be difficult to find a better replacement than Farke, who lost out on promotion by only six points.

The season could have ended very differently for the Whites if they hadn’t suffered a dramatic downturn in form in recent weeks, which appeared to play mind games in the play-off final.

Of course, if Leeds fail to achieve promotion next season, more fans will doubt Farke’s suitability for the job. Until then, he’ll be in charge at Elland Road.
