Alasdair Gold has reported that certain Tottenham officials are downplaying the possibility of signing Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer.
Hudson-Odoi has been one of Forest’s greatest players this season, settling in quickly at the City Ground after joining from Chelsea last summer.
Various reports have indicated in recent weeks that Tottenham have been impressed by the 23-year-old’s performances and are planning a move to bring him back to London.
The Sun reported a few days ago that three Premier League clubs were interested in the Blues academy graduate, but Tottenham were first in line to sign him.
According to the report, while Forest does not want to let rid of the winger, they may be forced to sacrifice him due of their current PSR situation.
Spurs sources talk down Hudson-Odoi connections.
However, Gold has since disclosed that his contacts at Hotspur Way have tended to downplay the speculation.
When asked about Tottenham’s interest in Hudson-Odoi, the writer told Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast: “Interestingly, I’ve seen some bits and pieces about Callum Hudson-Odoi floating around in recent days. There appears to be some opposition within Spurs, as that is not someone they are looking for, which is rather fascinating.
“I could understand it for a couple of reasons, for the homegrown perspective and the fact we know Forest have to sell players, but the current feeling seems to be that’s not somebody they’re going for.”
