International goalkeeper considers Panathinaikos move.
Leeds United are expected to ‘miss out’ on Spezia goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Polish international is close to signing with Panathinaikos.
With Illan Meslier’s long-term future uncertain, Dragowski has recently been linked with a move to Elland Road. The 26-year-old wants to leave Spezia owing to a lack of playing time and increase his chances of getting included in Poland’s squad for the upcoming European Championship.
According to recent reports from Italy, Panathinaikos is leading the race to sign Dragowski. It has also been stated that the Greek club will include second-string shot-stopper Yuriy Lodygin in the deal.
Meslier, Karl Darlow, and Kristoffer Klaesson provide United with plenty of goalkeeping options. Darlow is now ineligible for selection after dislocating his thumb in late 2023.
United are paying careful attention to Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies’ predicament. It is widely documented that the Whites are looking for full-backs after terminating Djed Spence’s loan agreement and allowed Luke Ayling to join Middlesbrough on a temporary basis.
According to The Athletic, Davies is the latest defender on their transfer radar. The Wales international has started nine of Spurs’ past ten Premier League games.
United has a positive connection with Tottenham, having negotiated loan agreements for Spence and Joe Rodon this season. In addition to Davies, the Whites have been linked with West Ham United’s Ben Johnson, Burnley’s Connor Roberts, and Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams.
