Liverpool has just bid goodbye to Jurgen Klopp, and it may not be the only tearful farewell at Anfield this summer.
Indeed, Liverpool are at a crossroads right now, following Klopp’s departure and the introduction of a new recruitment staff.
This summer, a number of players have been linked with moves away from Anfield, including Luis Diaz, whose future remains uncertain.
David Lynch has been speaking on his YouTube channel on Diaz’s future at Liverpool, and he believes the £37 million player might be transferred and replaced by someone who scores more goals.
Luis Diaz could quit Liverpool.
Lynch revealed what he knew about the winger.
“The only thing I would say about Diaz is that it is not a clear-cut case. My sense is that Liverpool is happy to have him, but they believe his productivity could be slightly higher if they could lose Diaz and replace him with someone who scored a few more goals; perhaps that is something they would consider,” Lynch said.
“It’s a possibility; not one I’d completely rule out, as I would with Alisson and Nunez, but not one you’d say will definitely leave this summer.” I think he’ll be a pretty interesting story for Liverpool this summer. “It’s almost 50/50 right now,” Lynch remarked.
Sadio Mane’s replacement
Selling Diaz seems like a ridiculous notion given how good he has been this season.
However, Liverpool were always at their best with two goal-scoring wingers rather than someone more creative like Diaz.
Indeed, as brilliant as Diaz has been, he has not yet proven to be a suitable Sadio Mane replacement due to his lack of goals.
Goals are football’s currency, and while Diaz is fantastic, Liverpool could replace him with someone with greater potency.
