Kelvin Wilson claims Nottingham Forest’s £4 million-rated player will have to go this summer

Kelvin Wilson believes that one Nottingham Forest player’s fate is sealed ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Reds will have a busy summer, as usual, with Premier League football confirmed for another season.

Forest will most likely want to balance the books this summer, allowing Nuno Espirito Santo to work with a smaller roster.

That will necessitate negotiations with those players who have been on loan and whose futures at the club are uncertain.

Wilson believes one returning player will have to leave Forest if he wants to play regular first-team football.

What Kelvin Wilson has said about Joe Worrall

Joe Worrall has had a disappointing season, both at Forest and on loan at Besiktas.

He spent the first half of the season at Forest but struggled to get regular game time, with Worrall apparently falling out with Steve Cooper.

That put him on the outside of the team when Nuno Espirito Santo arrived, and he immediately decided he wasn’t in his plans.

Now, Wilson believes Worrall will have to leave City Ground during the summer transfer window.

He stated on the Forest Focus podcast: “He’s going to have to move on. Nuno loaned him out, which tells Joe what he thinks of him with all due respect.”

Forest needs to sell Worrall this summer.

With financial fair play looming in the background, Forest must balance the budget this summer – and maintaining Worrall makes no sense.

Willy Boly, Moussa Niakhate, and Andrew Omobamidele are the Reds’ current players, while Murillo has been a standout during the 2023/24 season.

Murillo could go, but some argue that all three other Premier League centre-backs are better progressed than Worrall.

Worrall is apparently available for £4 million, which would be a good deal for a club.

Worrall’s time at Forest is up, and at 27 years old, he should be departing for good and beginning over elsewhere.
