Latest Nottingham Forest news as Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds prepare to play Burnley in the last Premier League game of the season.
Nicolas Dominguez, Nottingham Forest’s midfielder, will miss the club’s final game of the season after undergoing surgery.
The Argentine underwent hernia surgery after experiencing abdominal pain for several months. He will miss Sunday’s trip to Burnley, as the Reds try to end the summer on a high note.
Neco Williams, the visitors’ defender, will also be absent at Turf Moor. He has missed the last two games after being forced off with a thigh injury in last month’s loss to Manchester City.
“Unfortunately, he will not be available. “It is disappointing,” Nuno stated about the Welshman.
“Also, Nicolas Dominguez, we used the opportunity to address some concerns he has been dealing with in the last stages of the season. He underwent surgery and will not be available. Some others are out, but we’ll keep it quiet for now.”
Nuno stated that Dominguez was in a lot of discomfort and couldn’t produce force. He’s been struggling a lot for the previous two months. We tried to manage him as best we could, but there was no other option and he needed surgery.
“We anticipate (he will be fine) in one week, so he can perhaps begin the new season in a stronger position. Now I believe it is critical for him to take care of himself and rest.
Forest face the Clarets with Premier League safety all but assured. They are three points ahead of 18th-placed Luton Town, with a substantially stronger goal difference.
Because of Williams’ injury, Gonzalo Montiel will most likely continue to play right back. Dominguez came off the bench in Chelsea’s 3-2 defeat last Saturday, after making his final start for the club against Everton last month.
