Following Nottingham Forest’s Premier League victory over Sheffield United, Garth Crooks praised about one of their players.

The Reds had a number of standout players throughout their victory at Bramall Lane.

Callum Hudson-Odoi scored twice, while Ryan Yates scored once, ensuring that Ben Brereton Diaz’s penalty was in vain.

Forest needed three points against the Blades and currently hold a three-point lead above Luton.

Fans were outraged when it was reported yesterday that Forest’s appeal had been denied.

They now understand that it will most likely require one more win to secure Premier League football for at least another season.

Crooks announced his Team of the Week following Saturday’s game, and he singled out one Forest player.

Garth Crooks praises Nottingham Forest star Willy Boly.

Willy Boly has been a relatively underestimated player for the Forest this season.

The challenge has been getting him on the field on enough occasions.

Boly attended the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast but returned with an injury.

As a result, Boly’s path back has been long, and Forest will be hoping he can stay healthy for a few more games this season.

Crooks was thrilled with his performance in South Yorkshire on Saturday and chose Forest’s Boly to his Team of the Week.

He told BBC Sport: “The tackle on Gustavo Hamer by Forest stalwart Willy Boly gave the opportunity for Callum Hudson-Odoi to score his second goal and wrap up the game.

“Sheffield United had a genuine go at Forest, and it took some superb defending, particularly from Boly, to keep the Blades at away.

“Boly and Murillo were superb at Bramall Lane and their presence will be crucial in the club’s remaining two matches at Chelsea and Burnley.”

Forest has a crucial decision to make regarding Boly.

The campaign is nearing its finish, and Forest will need to make some big decisions about key individuals.

Boly will be out of contract in the summer, and Forest must decide whether to offer him another contract.

Naturally, his aging age of 33 would make it an easy decision, but it may save Forest a fortune on defense.

Signing new players will be crucial for the Reds, and Boly is a seasoned Premier League defender.

However, he is frequently injured, which may cause Forest to reconsider offering him a new contract.

Willy Boly has been terrific this season.

Despite playing only 18 games for Forest this season, Boly’s numbers are quite impressive.

According to Who Scored, he has won 52 of the 77 aerial challenges he has taken part in, making him the fourth-best Forest player this season.

He’s actually won more headers than Ryan Yates and Murillo this season.

His tackling ability is also impressive, as he has made 43 tackles in 2023/24.

Boly is also seldom dribbled past, having done so only 12 times this season.

Forest will consider all of these numbers while making a choice on Boly.

Given that he makes only £46,000 per week at Forest, he won’t break the bank, and these statistics may encourage the club to offer Boly something.
