Leeds United vs Southampton: Daniel Farke assesses promotion chances amid new injury updates

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke will hold his final pre-match press conference of the regular Championship season before of the Whites’ encounter against Southampton.

This afternoon’s pre-match press conference is unlikely to be the last of its sort this season, with Leeds very certainly needing to compete in the Championship play-offs later this month.

Farke elected not to mention the likelihood of that situation following his side’s 4-0 defeat by Queens Park Rangers last Friday, but with Ipswich Town’s victory over Coventry City earlier this week, the automatic promotion picture is especially stark from Leeds’ perspective.

United must beat Southampton on Saturday afternoon and hope that Huddersfield Town, who are almost certainly relegated to League One, can pick up three points against Kieran McKenna’s Premier League hopes at Portman Road.

It’s a tall order but not impossible, therefore it will be intriguing to see the sort of line Farke takes in his press conference today.
