According to the Sunday Mirror, Leeds United are open to bids for 21-year-old midfielder Lewis Bate during the ongoing winter transfer window.
Bate played the season on loan at Oxford United and impressed in League One. He has only made one senior appearance for Leeds this season, and that was in the EFL Cup. The 21-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and he is not in Daniel Farke’s long-term plans.
It has been reported that Leeds are aiming to offload Bate before the transfer market closes in the coming weeks. Leeds are willing to entertain bids for a player who will be out of contract during the next summer transfer window.
The Whites expect that clubs in the lesser levels will make offers for Bate in the coming days and weeks. Leeds would still be owed compensation even if he completes his contract and leaves in the summer owing to his age.
