Gary Neville was astounded by one Liverpool player’s passing at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.
Following a dismal defeat at home to Crystal Palace last weekend, Liverpool had pressure to win three points today.
Arsenal defeated Wolves on Saturday evening, moving to the top of the Premier League rankings.
Liverpool had a quick start at Fulham, creating a big opportunity within two minutes.
After a well-worked corner, Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered an inch-perfect ball into the area, Luis Diaz was given the opportunity.
Diaz was unable to convert his header on target, as it went just wide of Bernd Leno’s goal.
And barely a few minutes into the game, Gary Neville was already gushing over one Liverpool player.
Neville is stunned by Liverpool star’s passing against Fulham.
Neville praised Alexander-Arnold on Sky Sports, citing the 25-year-old’s impressive passing range early in the game.
In the second minute, the Liverpool star made a superb cross-field pass to Diaz, resulting in a corner kick for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
“The pass to start that move off was sublime from Trent Alexander-Arnold,” Neville said in a statement. “A driven, faded, 60-yard delivery to Luis Diaz, who plays a lovely pass into Diogo Jota.”
Trent’s corner resulted in an inch-perfect delivery into Diaz, who directed his header just wide.
Neville went on to say, “The delivery is spectacular, you wouldn’t expect anything else.”
Alexander-Arnold scored just after the half-hour mark to round out a fantastic first half performance.
The full-back scored with a stunning free-kick from range, beating the Fulham wall and into the top corner.
Fulham versus Liverpool
Despite a commanding first half, Klopp’s side went into the break equal after a goal from Timothy Castagne.
Fulham’s striker scored immediately before halftime, leaving Liverpool with a tough task in the second half.
Only eight minutes into the second period, Ryan Gravenberch regained their advantage with a superb strike from range.
It’s fair to say that the Dutchman hadn’t had the best afternoon up to that point, but his effort was essential for Liverpool.
Diogo Jota then gave his team a much-needed two-goal lead with a nice finish in the 72nd minute after some good work by Cody Gakpo.
