Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as the Reds are once again connected with Southampton’s Che Adams.
Nottingham Forest are reportedly still interested in Southampton’s Che Adams during the January transfer window.
Last summer, reports suggested that Forest were interested in Adams following the Saints’ relegation from the Premier League. He was rumored to be worth “up to £15 million,” with Everton also reportedly interested at the time.
The striker has seven goals in all competitions this season, and his current deal with Southampton expires in the summer. He also scored five goals and contributed three assists in the previous season’s top tier.
According to Turkish news outlet Premier Lig Turkiye, Forest remains interested in the forward. However, they are expected to face competition from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Wolves.
The 27-year-old was “gutted” to see Saints relegated with just 25 points last season, as they finished at the bottom. “This season has been the most challenging of my career,” he remarked on Instagram.
“We have failed and fallen short of everyone’s expectations, and I can’t convey how disappointed and regretful I am. I have given my all to this club since the first time I stepped into Staplewood and St Mary’s on July 1, 2019, but this year was not enough. “Myself and everyone at the club will learn from our mistakes this season.”
Leicester-born Adams joined Southampton from Birmingham City on an estimated £15 million in 2019. He previously played in the East Midlands for Derbyshire’s Ilkeston Town and the non-league Leicestershire club Oadby Town.
