Tottenham are not playing around in the transfer market, having already signed two vital players and setting their sights on a third.
With the squad in need of reinforcement, chairman Daniel Levy is taking decisive action to suit manager Ange Postecoglou’s needs.
They have already secured Timo Werner on loan and beat Bayern Munich to the signing of Radu Dragusin, a highly rated Genoa centre-back.
But they’re not done yet; their next target is a midfielder. According to The Independent, Spurs are ‘pushing ahead’ with their plans to recruit a number 8 next, with Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher ‘top of the list’.
According to the report, Postecoglou is looking for a versatile midfielder who can play as an 8 and back up James Maddison if necessary.
They have selected the Chelsea player as the ideal candidate, and Chelsea will be willing to sell him for the proper price, which is said to be around £50 million.
Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is reportedly opposed to selling Gallagher.
Pochettino holds the midfielder in high respect, with Gallagher currently captaining the team in place of Reece James. It is also believed that Pochettino intends to construct his team around the talented player.
