David Prutton believes Leeds United will back to winning ways in the Championship when they play Blackburn Rovers this weekend.
In their last two league games, the Whites lost 2-1 away at Coventry City and drew 0-0 at home against Sunderland.
However, the visit of a Blackburn side beaten 5-0 away to Bristol City provides an excellent opportunity to record their first win in three games.
Prutton gave his forecast for Sky Sports [11 April, 6m 35s]: “We’ve seen Leeds draw and lose their past two games, so it brings things into sharp perspective.
“They face a crazily erratic Blackburn side. The last several games have shown that there is still some jeopardy left. I’ll go 3–1 to Leeds.”
Leeds vs Blackburn Rovers head-to-head records
The Whites have won seven of their last eight league games against Blackburn, scoring at least two goals in each of those wins.
Rovers have lost three consecutive games at Elland Road, after winning three in a row between January 2014 and October 2015.
Leeds’ incredible unbeaten start to 2024 came to an end at Coventry, and they were unable to respond at home to midtable Sunderland.
The performance was not outstanding, but the referee’s performance was far worse, costing United maximum points at home.
As we’ve seen in the past two games, no side in the Championship, including Blackburn Rovers, can be written off.
While they suffered a severe defeat at Ashton Gate, they had previously won 5-1 away against Sunderland.
Nothing sums up this league better. If Daniel Farke was granted a 1-0 victory right now, he would undoubtedly accept it.
