Tottenham have confirmed a deal with Championship club Plymouth Argyle for highly rated defender Ashley Phillips.
Spurs signed the centre-back from Blackburn in the summer for £2 million after being impressed by his performances last season, when he made 14 senior games in all competitions at the age of 17.
He quickly piqued Ange’s interest, but Spurs were lacking on defensive options at the moment, so he chose not to loan him out.
Following Micky van de Ven’s injury and Cristian Romero’s ban, he was ready to make his first-team debut.
However, an unforeseen injury hampered his chances of rapid engagement.
Now that he is fit again, Spurs have chosen to loan him out to Plymouth, according to the club.
Tottenham have officially declared that the teenage defender has joined the Championship side for the remainder of the season.
Tottenham are also negotiating with Genoa for Radu Dragusin. The Romanian defender has signed personal terms with the North London club; it is now up to the two teams to strike an agreement.
