Earlier today, TuttoMercatoWeb reported that Tottenham Hotspur had reestablished contact with Genoa in order to outbid Napoli for Radu Drăgușin’s services.
The 21-year-old is being ‘courted hard’ by both Spurs and the Serie A club, with both attempting to move closer to Genoa’s €30 million bid for his services.
That is according to Romania’s GSP.ro, which reports that Bayern Munich has joined Tottenham and Napoli in the trade race.
The Bundesliga champions covet the defender, and there could be a ‘surprise deal’ for him in January.
Thomas Tuchel appears to have sought a new centre-back, and Bayern director Christoph Freund has acknowledged that the club has made contact with several candidates.
Freund did not reveal the names of these players, but the site indicates Drăgușin may be on their radar. They suggest that the Bavarian club would have no trouble paying Genoa’s €30 million fee demands.
Florin Manea, the Romania international’s agent, told GSP.ro that he “doesn’t know anything” regarding Bayern’s interest in his client. He also confirmed a meeting with Genoa to discuss Drăgușin’s future.
“On Monday, I will meet with officials from Genoa to discuss Radu’s situation,” he told reporters.
Bayern Munich has been widely associated with Eric Dier, and moving to Drăgușin would be a significant change. The fact that the player’s agent, who has regularly expressed interest in various named clubs, is unfamiliar with Bayern is possibly instructive.
