Football can be an emotionally charged game at times.
Indeed, while it may appear that players do not care as much as fans do, make no mistake: that enthusiasm for the game is felt at all levels.
Of course, it’s great for athletes to be passionate, but sometimes that zeal can lead to something bad.
In recent years, we’ve seen colleagues fight on the pitch and in training, and Patrick Bamford, speaking on the My Mate’s a Footballer Podcast, recounted a minor altercation at Leeds United.
Bamford admits that he had a heated argument with Stuart Dallas after a game during his early days at Leeds, but the two are now best friends and very close after swiftly patching things up.

Bamford spoke about his argument with the £1.3m man.
“There have never been any punches thrown. Strangely, I prefer to think of myself as a calm person, yet I’ve been involved in a handful. One of them was at Leeds; the first or second year I was there, Stuart Dallas and I had a fight in the changing room, but we called each other on the way home and we were good; he’s now one of my best friends. “Me and Stu aren’t aggressive people, so it was easy to patch things up, but after that, we were probably closer,” Bamford explained.

As weird as it may sound, this is what you want to hear from your athletes.
An dispute after a match demonstrates how much these two cared about Leeds’ performance, and the fact that it was resolved so swiftly ensured that no harm was done.
Sometimes a team requires an injection of adrenaline and rage to go forward, and as long as it does not completely spill over, it may truly help the team focus and even bring members closer together when the dust has cleared.
Bamford and Dallas appear to have had an issue in the past, but they’re currently as close as they can be.
