Leeds United will add Jordan Miles to their recruitment structure from Aberdeen at the end of this month, joining the club as head of recruitment.
The Whites are likely to be extremely active in the January transfer window, looking to add the right players to improve their squad for the promotion run-in in 2024.
Leeds’ investment via the 49ers has coincided with considerable boardroom restructuring following the NFL franchise’s acquisition of the club in the summer.
Jordan Miles will join Leeds soon.
In 2023, it was claimed that Leeds were interested in Aberdeen’s head of recruitment, Jordan Miles, who had recently gained the attention of the Whites administration.
According to Football Scotland, the 33-year-old has signed with Leeds, although he will move south of the line at the conclusion of the January transfer window.
Miles will remain at Pittodrie until the end of the month to oversee their expenditure, with Leeds paying compensation to bring him to LS11.
Miles returned to England after six months abroad.
Miles has only been with Aberdeen since the summer of 2023, having joined from West Ham.
Leeds hoped Miles would join the club in time for the January transfer window, but that hasn’t happened.
In the interim, Leeds and Daniel Farke’s transfer conversations are being led by Gretar Steinsson and Nick Hammond.
Eye-catching maneuvers from the 49ers.
Miles is still in the early stages of his career, having gained scouting experience at Ipswich Town and Derby County before transferring to West Ham and working his way into a scouting post.
However, his performance at these clubs has evidently impressed the 49ers enough to design their recruitment strategy around him.
The club is taking the necessary steps to guarantee that they have a system in place that does not rely on one guy making the decisions, which was a major cause to our relegation.
