According to the paperwork from Everton’s appeal, Nottingham Forest will almost certainly lose points this season, Football Insider can reveal.

The Toffees successfully appealed their 10-point deduction, and their original sentence was lowered to six points on Monday (February 26).

The focus now shifts to Everton’s second accusation and Nottingham Forest’s charge connected to the 2022-23 accounts.

According to the Premier League’s new fast-track regulations, both clubs will obtain a ruling on their infractions before the end of the 2023-24 season.

Nottingham Forest can no longer avoid points deduction after Everton appeal documentation is revealed.

Following Everton’s successful appeal, the Premier League issued a statement and provided the entire written reasoning for the Appeal Board’s judgments.

In section 201 of this document, it is stated that “any breach of rule E.51 (i.e. any PSR Calculation showing losses of over £105m over the relevant period) warrants a points deduction, and nothing less than a points deduction.”

According to The Times, Forest “admitted” to the Premier League that they had breached financial standards by exceeding their permissible losses of £61 million over three years.

The decision on Everton’s appeal means that a points deduction for Forest this season is now unavoidable, given that the club acknowledged to excessive losses.

The level of the points deduction will be determined by Forest’s losses during the previous three years.
